On the afternoon of January 14,2022, Shanghai Lin-gang Special Area Intellectual Property Council First Session of Second Memeber Conference was successfully held in the first Lecture Hall of the E District of the Lin-gang New Area Administrative Committee. The conference concluded the council’s work in 2021 and and showed the annual work plan for 2022. Coucil members voted through the Council Payment Standards and Management Measures, and the Honor and Commendation Management Measures.

Since its establishment, the council has played a supporting role and provides many effective services for its members: leading the compilation of Belt and Road and Key Overseas Countries’ Patent Protection Guide to help enterprises make overseas intellectual property layout; Lianshang Network, an enterprise located in Lin-gang New Area, won the final appeal of a trademark rights protection case and the council awarded 75,000 yuan on the basis of its reasonable expenditure, so as to encourage more enterprises in Lin-gang New Area to actively carry out intellectual property rights (IPR) protection; providing expert consulting services for council members; helped a biomedical enterprise in Lin-gang New Area to avoid risks and successfully listed; improving the sense of gain and happiness of enterprises in Lingang New Area, truly serving the overall situation of scientific and technological innovation and development in Lingang New Area, effectively promoting the realization of Shanghai international intellectual property value and the construction of IPR protection highland.

In the following annual conference, the appointment ceremony of the first Expert Committee, the award ceremony of the “Zhichuang Lingang” 2021 Annual Outstanding Contribution Award, Outstanding Team Award and Outstanding Individual Award were held. Zhao Yihuai, member of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of Lin-gang New Area, and Yan Yijun, Director of the Market Supervision and Administration Bureau of Lin-gang New Area were specially invited to attend and present the award.

Among them, the “Zhichuang Lingang” 2021 Annual Outstanding Contribution Award was reviewed by the expert committee. This reward is selected once every year, and one for each session, awarded to enterprises, institutions, teams or individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the construction of the intellectual property public service system in Lin-gang New Area. It is the highest honor established by the council. This year’s winner of this prize is Shanghai Maritime University Intellectual Property Information Service Center, which has successfully passed the joint evaluation of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the State Intellectual Property Officen in October 2021, actively integrated into the construction of Lin-gang New Area, provided a large number of intellectual property services, and was officially approved as one of the fourth batch of TISC operating institutions established by WIPO in China.

Qiao Peng, representative of chairman enterprises, Deputy Manager of Lin-gang Science and Technology City, pointed out in the summary speech that Lin-gang New Area Intellectual Property Rights Mutual Fund is the first market running intellectual property rights mutual fund; the council adheres to the concept of spontaneous organization, independent management, autonomous operation, fully embodies its features of marketization, public welfare, mutual assistance; we should work together to build the fund into an important part of the diversified intellectual property rights protection system in Lin-gang New Area, so that it will continue to play a strong role in providing special funds for rights protection assistance, strengthening the service team for rights protection assistance, improving overseas rights protection assistance services, and building a mutual assistance and exchange platform for rights protection.
